Dear David,
I thought I'd kick off October with a celebrity sighting.
Do you recognize who's standing next to me in that
picture? Yes, it's the
Prime Minister
of Canada!
I
bet you didn't realize I was such a hob-nobber, eh? LOL
I
met the PM recently when I was in Whitehorse; we were
staying in the same hotel believe it or not. I'm not a
huge fan of his politically, but it was still very cool to
meet the Prime Minister of Canada. And in case you were
wondering, YES that is a moose head in the background.
What can I say? We were in the Yukon. :)
We
just wrapped up the Western Series Addison Shows, and a
big THANK YOU to everyone who stopped by the Real Resorts
and El Cid Resorts booths to say hello. It was a busy
couple of weeks but it was lots and lots of fun (please
see the story below to find out if YOU won a Starbucks
gift card).

A new member of the FMTM team!
I would like to extend a warm welcome to Dave Emery; the
newest addition to the FMTM team. Dave is working a part-time
contract position, assisting with the El Cid Resorts account.
We are lucky to have Dave, as he has over 15 years of Sales
and Marketing experience. Dave has a Bachelor's Degree and a
Master's Degree from the University of California (I guess you
could say he's the brains of the operation now - LOL). Dave is
an exceptional public speaker and is a certified Toastmaster.
He has dual citzenship (Canada/USA) and he has traveled
extensively on 6 continents.
Dave is super-friendly and is looking forward to working with
you. Dave will be at the Eastern Series Addison Shows so
please make sure to come by and say hello. Dave can be reached

I remember what I was doing. I was living in a little town in
Northwestern British Columbia and I was in my Senior year
(Grade 12).
(That's my student card to the right, and before you judge me,
mullets were VERY popular back in the day!!! LOL)

Saskatoon Star Phoenix
Heidi Storm Samore, El Cid Resort's Director of Marketing
was the subject of a wonderful story about Mazatlan that
appeared in the Saskatoon Star Phoenix newspaper on Saturday,
September 19th. It's an extremely well written piece focusing
on Mazatlan as a destination, but it also talks about El Cid
Resorts and mentions Westjet's direct service to Mazatlan from
Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, Saskatoon, Regina and Winnipeg.
By the way, the author specifically says
"Check with your favourite
travel agent". I thought you'd like that! :)

Dixie Update:
Living the High Life!
This year the venue for the Addison show in Victoria BC was
the
Inn at Laurel Point. What a fantastic hotel. If you've
never been there you have to go!!! It's located in a prime
spot on the inner-harbour, and it's my favourite hotel in
Victoria.
Since Victoria is just a quick ferry ride away, we brought
Dixie with us. The Inn at Laurel Point is now officially
Dixie's favourite hotel EVER.
Dixie enjoyed the royal treatment; doggie bed, stainless steel
bowls, bottled water and doggie treats!!!
