Hello and Happy August!!!
How is your summer going? Are you keeping cool???
I've been having a great summer so far and I just
got back from a road-trip to Edmonton/Calgary. It
was great to see so many Alberta agents. Love ya -
mean it!!!
Dixie didn't get to come all the way to Alberta, but
she did come for part of the ride, as far as Grandma
& Grandpa's place in Kamloops.
Dixie is a great little traveller, and she LOVES
going in the car. Whenever she sees us starting to
pack she knows something's up and she gets crazy and
can barely contain her excitement.
I don't know about you, but I can totally relate. I
get excited like that whenever I get to go to
Mexico!!! But of course I don't stick my head out of
the window of the airplane!!! HAHA

Hotel Fact Sheets
from Real Resorts
Real Resorts has a great selling tool for you!!! The
Hotel Fact Sheets are designed specifcially for you,
the travel agent, and they will make you feel like an
instant expert on the properties.
 Real
Resorts has thought of everything you could possibly
want/need to know about a spefiic hotel including;
general description of the resort, list of exactly
what's included in the All-Inclusive plan, detailed
description of each suite category, description of all
the restaurants and bars, suite lay-outs and even a
detailed map of the resorts.
The map is my favourite feature. All the suites are
colour-coded so you can see exactly where each
category is located. You can also see the specific
suite numbers and the bedding configuration. In
addition, you are able to see where the elevators are,
and where all the restaurants and bars are located.
They are awesome!!! And you can even email them to
your clients and they will love you for it.

Linda Gomez Cordova is Senior Westjet Vacations
Destintation Experience Representative, and she
recently answered questions about the Hotel Marina El
Cid Beach & Spa Resort in the Mayan Riviera.
As a local destination expert what do you think in
general of the quality of hotels in Cancun and
the Riviera Maya?
In general, I think Cancun and the Mayan Riviera's
quality of hotels is probably the best in Mexico , the
beaches are the most beautiful beaches in the country,
the quality and diversity of hotels is available for
all kinds of people to match what ever needs and wants
a person can ask for.
How about the quality and the diversity of activities
that are available in the surrounding areas of our
hotel?
This is one of the highlights of Cancun and the Mayan
Riviera- there is something for everyone, adventure,
history, night life, combinations of all put together,
or if you just want to relax but enjoy the sights-
excursions and activities are available for all. It
doesn't matter if you are a family with young
children, a newly wed couple, or a couple celebrating
their 50th anniversary, there are activities available
for all kinds, and again, the spectacular thing about
this location is the quality, nothing but the best.
What is the success of this hotel in the Canadian
Market?
The one success of the El Cid is the customer service,
not only is it a beautiful resort, which meets the
needs for everyone, the service by far meets and
exceeds our guests expectations. It's a fantastic
place for families, young couples- really everyone!!
If you would rank from 0 (low) to 10 (high) our guest
satisfaction, what would our average ranking be?
I would have to say with ease, the rank I personally
would put on guest satisfaction would have to be
between an 8 and a 9.
 What
type of clients do you feel should select our hotel
for their vacation? (eg families, couples,
destination weddings, spa seekers, fishermen, scuba
divers etc)
This is why this hotel is one of my personal
favorites- all clients of all types would be happy
here, with maybe the exception of people who want
adults only. But this hotel, offers many different
restaurants, activites, entertainment, room
categories, beautiful beach, the Spa is lovely!, there
is a pier and the location of this resort is in the
most popular little fishing village in the area.
What do you feel are some of the unique features
of this resort?
The diving rock in the pool is a huge success with
guests, the kids club is fantastic, the rooms are
beautiful and clean, and large, the layout of the
property - its not too large of a complex which allows
guests to get to know the staff during their stay, the
location is prime location, close to the airport,
close to Cancun for shopping, you have Cancun 30
minutes in one direction and Playa Del Carmen 30
minutes the other direction. Prime location, easy
access to leave the complex for the adventurous guests
who want to use public transportation, or just to take
a walk into the Puerto Morelos! The Platinum Club is a
definite perk to a guests stay in the resort! These
are just to name a few unique features.
