Dear
Dave,
A warm ALOHA from the beautiful island of Maui.
We arrived here on Friday night and we are staying at Honua
Kai Resort & Spa. Wow!!! What a magnificent property.
The first thing we noticed when we arrived at Honua Kai
was the wonderfully intoxicating aroma of fresh-cut
tropical flowers that greeted us in the lobby. And HELLO,
what a beautiful lobby it is.
After our long travel day (we had to connect in PHX) we
were both really looking forward to seeing what our Two
Bedroom Resort View Suite would
be like. We had looked at all of the beautiful pictures of
the suites on the Honua
Kai website, and maybe I'm suspicious by nature, but I
never fully trust the internet and brochure pictures.
Maybe I'm jaded??? LOL
Well,
I can happily tell you that the pictures don't lie. They
are not exaggerated or embellished in the slightest, and
our suite looks EXACTLY like the gorgeous pictures on the
website. LOVE IT!! We have a full gourmet kitchen complete
with granite countertop, high-end stainless steel
appliances, and quality dishes/cutlery. The living-room,
dining-room and bedroom furniture is all modern,
comfortable and stylish.
The resort itself is beachfront and we were really curious
as to what the beach was like. One of the most common
questions we get from Travel Agents when we are on sales
calls is, "How's
the beach?" Again,
the pictures looked great online, but we wanted to see for
ourselves. Two thumbs up! Way up!! First of all, the beach
is absolutely gorgeous; just like a postcard. It's a sandy
beach (didn't notice any big rocks) and the water is warm
and wonderful, great for splashing around, swimming or
even some snorkelling. Highly recommend!
But to be honest, I'm more of a pool-person (I was stung
by a jelly-fish in Florida once and I think it left an
emotional scar haha), so I will be spending more time in
the pool than I will in the ocean. Honua Kai has THREE
pools and they are definitely passing the "Freddie test"
with flying colours! The water is a perfect temperature
(not too cold and not too warm), and they are free-form,
meaning they seem to meander throughout the plush grounds.
No boring square pool here! I think one of my favourite
features though has to be the in-water chaise lounges. I
love them so much! I can see myself spending plenty of
quality-time lying back relaxing, sipping my diet-coke,
chewing my Nicorette (still not smoking but now I'm
addicted to the gum!!!) and dipping my toes in the water.
Another frequent question we get from Travel Agents is, "Are
there enough lounge chairs at the pools or do my clients
have to get up at the crack-of-dawn to reserve them?" Well,
the resort is nearly full this week and we can see tons of
available loungers so this does not appear to be a problem
whatsoever.
Something
else that we love about Honua Kai is having Duke's
Beach House Restaurant on
site. Have you heard of Duke's before? It's a really fun
Hawaiian chain with locations throughout the islands and
even a couple in Southern California. Duke's has a great
atmosphere and delicious food. Tell your clients to save
room for the HULA
PIE. It is sooo good. Mmm.
We have only been in Maui for a couple of days but we can
honestly say that Honua Kai is way beyond what we were
expecting (and our expectations were high).

Don't forget your clients can receive every 5th night free
for travel before December 22nd. For example, if they stay
for 10 nights then only pay for 8! What a great deal.
Also, Honua Kai still has Christmas
space available
so book your clients now!!!
If you have any questions about Honua Kai, please don't
hesitate to contact myself or Dave.
