Lately, I've been enjoying
exploring my ancestry, and
specifically finding out the
results of a DNA Test. My
partner gave me an Ancestry.com
DNA test a few years ago. I got
the results of the DNA test
right before we got on a Baltic
Cruise.
I found out that I was 19%
Scandinavian and 2%
Finnish/western Russian, and we
were on our way to Russia,
Finland, Sweden, Denmark and
Norway. I knew I was mostly
English and Irish, but never new
about these and other components
of my ancestry.

If you haven't done it yet, I
encourage you to do a DNA test,
if even just for fun. There as
so many options ( Ancestry.com,
23andMe,
MyHeritage, and more). It
brings a whole new dimension to
your travels, and some of them
even add some useful genetic
health markers. I think I'm
going to try
23andMe next, just to
compare results. (None of them
are prefect, and they each use
different reference databases.)

We are excited to announce
that Honua Kai Resort & Spa
will break ground on 72 luxury
townhomes on the grassy area
behind the two buildings. The
construction started last
month, and is scheduled to be
completed sometime in 2020.
When completed, we will have
additional 3 bedroom villas
available!
The hours of development will
be from Monday through
Saturday from 9am -5pm. Light
work only (no noise) will be
deliberately maintained from
8am-9am. During this time the
remainder of the resort,
pools, restaurants and all its
amenities will still be
available for guest enjoyment.
Note that the construction
will only significantly affect
our mountain and some of our
resort view suites. Look for
construction view rates in
your favourite tour operator.
This may be the perfect time
to quote construction rates to
guests who would not normally
have the budget to stay at
Honua Kai. (Note that our
Partial-Ocean and OV suites
will not be significantly
affected by the construction.)

The new Hacienda section of the
Hilton Puerto Vallarta is opening
this month. The Mexican style
section of the Hilton features
garden view, pool view and
