Go back! Sometimes it is worth
revisiting some attraction that you
haven’t seen in a long time. This is
especially the case for good museums
that update their exhibits
constantly.
Over the Christmas-NYE break, we
went back to the Palm Springs Air
Museum. Having friends from out of
town visiting, was the excuse to
revisit this world-class attraction.

It was amazing to talk to the many
docent volunteers, who were all much
older than me. Some had flown the
planes from WWII, Korean and Vietnam
conflicts. Enjoying the USO stage
and seeing clips of the Bob Hope USO
tours is appropriate for Palm
Springs (where Bob Hope lived). We
got to read about and see Walt
Disney’s plane, “Mickey
Mouse One”.

It was great to also see so many
volunteers working to restore the
old planes, and read about the
specific plane’s wartime
stories. There are a number of
planes and exhibits that are
interactive and several that you can
climb inside and explore the
yourself. The museum even offers
rides in vintage planes to a few
museum goers.

The museum is constantly being
updated with new planes
also. Incredibly, they do have a
stealth fighter plane on
display. One volunteer told me that
a new hanger being erected will
feature a “Top Gun’ fighter and
something special from NASA.
Sometimes it is worth revisiting the
classics. That could also be the
case for a nice all-inclusive resort
that you are comfortable with the
food, beach, facilities and
staff. Especially if it is a place
you (or your clients) can truly
relax.
