Dear Sandy,
I recently had the
opportunity to visit the Krystal Resort in Ixtapa and get
familiar with Ixtapa and Zihuatenejo.
The Ixtapa area runs along 26 kms of hilly tropical
coastline with dozens of sandy beaches and scalloped
coves. The average temperature is 78.8 degrees and the
sun shines approximately 340 days a year!

KRYSTAL IXTAPA - The Krystal Ixtapa is
located on one of the best beaches in Ixtapa's hotel
district.
IXTAPA - Once a coconut plantation, Ixtapa
boasts the high-rise hotels, all-inclusive resorts,
air-conditioned restaurants and upscale shopping you
associate with Mexican beach resorts and luxury travel.

KRYSTAL IXTAPA
The property features a great combination of modern
architecture, hotel accommodations, cuisine, and
Ixtapa's most spectacular swimming pool with its own
waterfall and water-slide!
|
The Krystal Resort is located on a beautiful beach! |
The junior
suites are the rooms on the diagonal and very spacious.
|
Great pools for kids and adults |

The amazing beach in front of the Krystal Ixtapa |
The resort
offers 3 restaurants and one a la carte which is the
famous Bogarts Restaurant. We were fortunate to spend an
evening at Bogarts. We began our our evening with an
amazing caesar salad prepared at our table by our waiter
Reynaldo, followed by a homemade sorbet, main course of
chicken codon blue, then an delicious flambaed crepes
(which were out of this world) and finishing off the
perfect meal with a Mexican coffee.

The fantasy of "Casablanca" is brought to life at
Bogarts Restaurant. Enjoy the international cuisine,
piano music & exotic, romantic ambiance of one of the
most memorable film classics
|
|
Christine's Disco was so much fun, but I think we are
getting a little old for this! |
|
The hotel is built in a triangle so every room has
an ocean view
|
It was hard
to say good-bye to my colleagues at the Krystal Ixtapa, as
they made our stay memorable and an awesome experience! I
will miss my office at the beach as I head back to
Calgary!
|
Of course the first part of your job as an agent is
selling the destination. It was great for me and my
husband to get out and get to know beautiful Ixtapa!
Travelers include the neighboring beach towns of Ixtapa
and Zihuatanejo, in the state of Guerrero, as favourite
destinations, but that's where their similarity ends.
Visitors to this area will encounter two decidedly
different vacation destinations just 6.5 km (4 miles
apart).
|
Our excursion to Ixtapa Island |
Zihuatanejo, on the other hand, evolved from quaint
fishing village to backpackers' hotspot to today's
incarnation of winding streets of galleries and folk art
shops, small boutique hotels and palapa-style seafood
restaurants serving the catch of the day. Backpackers
still holiday here, but share the experience with
honeymooners, snorkelers, swimmers, and cultural travelers
who appreciate "Zihua's" laid-back vibe and
postcard-worthy scenery of rocky cliffs, sand and sea.
