While it only takes a few minutes to read our newsletters, it only takes two minutes to save a life. The month of April is Organ Donation month. You can register as an organ donor at www.taketwominutes.ca.

Last week, April 7, was Green Shirt Day which honours the legacy of Logan Boulet, one of the young hockey players killed in the tragic Humboldt Broncos bus crash in April 2018. Logan was a registered donor and donated his organs so that six lives could live on. His selfless act inspired tens of thousands of Canadians to register as organ donors in the days following his donation.

Once you’ve registered your decision, have a conversation with your family about your decision. Organ donation saves lives. In 2021, 529 people received the gift of life through transplant in BC. Almost 600 people in BC are waiting for a life-saving transplant.
