All is Well!

All is well in Mazatlan! It was wonderful to see Mazatlan again, and in such great shape. All along the beautiful Malecon, preparations were underway for the upcoming Carnival celebrations in February. We also loved the seeing the Observatory Mazatlan 1873 historic site, with the amazing ocean views. Of course, every trip to Mazatlan must include dinner in the Centro Historico (renovated downtown) area and Machado Square.

Although Mazatlan was in the news a few weeks ago, I couldn't wait to get back down here. I have had relatives in Mazatlan for the whole month of January who said it quieted down quickly. Even the Canadian flights resumed within a few days and the Canadian travel advisory, of course excluded Mazatlan

 

We enjoyed staying at the quiet El Cid Marina Beach property. On the Elite all-inclusive plan, we had full access to all 4 El Cid properties. Here are a few photos of my week getting re-acquianted with the destination, the El Cid properties and my wonderful colleagues. The sunsets over the Pacific ocean, are of course, beautiful

El Cid's long-time tour operator partners include WestJet Vacations and Sunwing. For this trip however, we decided to fly Swoop out of Abbotsford. Of course, you can package your WestJet El Cid booking with a Swoop flight for your clients. Also, Swoop just announced that they were adding additional flights direct to Mazatlan from both Edmonton and Abbotsford for the rest of the season! We were certainly happy with the friendliness of the Swoop staff and the on-time flights.

The food at all of the El Cid restaurants and the Marina Beach beach was wonderful! Our fellow guests at the El Cid properties also seemed to be really enjoying the food quality and selection. We also loved the daily entertainment at the El Cid Castilla Beach property.

The El Cid staff on the 4 properties sure spoiled us, and all of the guests on property. Plus, it was wonderful to see my colleagues in the International Sales Team, including Norma Cisneros and Roberto Rivera.

Don't forget about the 3 family-freindly El Cid properties in the Riviera Maya. These 3 properties are sister properties, in Puerto Morales, only 20 minutes from the Cancun airport. They are turly "Stay at One, Play at Three", with full exchange between the 3 properties.
