I spent many of my younger years in
California’s central valley when I
worked in the agricultural
industry. Did you know that
California produces 80% of the
world's almonds and 100% of the
United States commercial supply of
almonds? I think of this every time
I snack on some roasted almonds or
drink my almond milk.

Last weekend I attended a large
agricultural show in Fresno, in
California‘s central valley. It was
wonderful to see the almond orchards
in full bloom once again. When in
full bloom, the trees look like they
are covered with snow. When the
blossoms start dropping, and before
the green leaves appear, the ground
looks like it is covered with snow.

I know we can’t all be in
California, but winter is coming to
an end, even in Canada!
