Late January and early February can
be the time for winter blues. The
shine and warm feelings of the
holidays are long gone, and the grey
skies and cold weather are here, for
maybe months to come.
I try to overcome the winter blues
with a trip to some sun, and to get
out and enjoy the company of some of
our agent partners. I had a great
week, in January on Vancouver
Island. We visited 30 brick-&-mortar
agencies from Sidney to Campbell
River, drove over 750 km.

Plus, we met some great home-based
agents at our Tim Horton's meet ups.
It is always fun to give our agent
partners updates on El Cid Resorts!

I was happy to hear about the
support of El Cid Resorts, on both
coasts of Mexico, from agents and
their clients on the Island.
|
|
Of course, direct flights to CUN
from Victoria make it easy for
guests to get to our 3 properties in
Puerto Morelos. I was also
pleasantly surprised to hear that
clients were willing to fly to
Vancouver and Calgary (often with
overnight stops) to get on their
direct WestJet or Sunwing flights to
Mazatlan.

One of my favourite places in
Mazatlan is Machado Square. This
beautiful square is in the
rennovated historic, El Centro
(downtown) área. I feel comfortable
there, day or night, as the square
is a hub of local, activity. It
hosts some of my favourite
restaurants (Casa 46, Pedro &
Lola’s, etc.).

Only a few blocks from Machado
Square is the beautiful and unique
Mazatlan cathedral. I always love
taking agents on my FAMs on a City
tour (with PronaTours),
and recommend that for their clients
also.

provides a generous amount
of points that agents can
redeem for gift cards or
online shopping (Tim
Horton's, movie, Apple
products and MANY more.)
Note that this program works
for all 8 El Cid Resorts.
Note that bookings must be
made through any Tour
Operator such: Sunwing,
WestJet, etc. Bookings made
it through online companies
such: Expedia, Travelocity,
Hotels.com will not be
applicable to El Cid Rewards
