I love hosting good travel advisors on
our annual FAMs to our
properties. It is a rare chance to
get to really know advisorsas
people. At trade
shows, when
advisorss are trying to get around to
50 booths of vendors, we maybe have
a 10-20 second smile and quick
interaction.
During office
visits,
for advisors in traditional
brick-and-mortar offices, we maybe
have 10-15 minutes of chatting and
business, before the advisor needs to
get back to the stack of work on
their desks.
|
|
For home-based
advisors, we
maybe get to see you at a seminar,
and interact for a few minutes
before and after the formal
presentations.
So, FAMs for me (and most BDMs) is
the rare opportunity to really
connect with advisors (our clients) as
people. We are with the advisors from
morning to late in the evening,
enjoying a variety of shared
experiences and meaningful
conversations. I just got back from
a 4 night FAM to the 3 El Cid
properties in the Riviera Maya
(Puerto Morelos), where I get to
really know 8 advisors from Quebec,
Ontario, Alberta, British Columbia
and the Yukon.

|
Over the weekend, I was at a social
event where there were a number of
travel advisors There was one home-based
advisor who I hadn’t seen in years. We
immediately had a great
conversation, as we had connected on
one of my previous FAMs. I went home
and figured out that she was on my
El Cid Mazatlan FAM in 2016; 10
years ago!
As a follow up to all of my FAMs, I
like to share a few comments from
our FAM advisors, your colleagues.
Thank you to all advisors who have
invested in one of my FAMs over the
years!

Claudia Morgan, Expedia Cruises,
Whitehorse, Yukon -
“What I will tell my work
colleagues? I will tell them that El
Cid resorts are beautiful. The pools
are awesome and clean. The grounds
are extremely established and well
taken care of. The restaurants are
all top notch. A huge variety. All
the staff are kind, respectful and
hard working.”
Boris Glazai, Voyages A Rabais,
Trois-Rivieres, QC
“After experiencing El Cid Resorts,
I would tell my colleagues that it
is important to look at the three
properties as different options for
different types of clients rather
than simply selling “El Cid” as one
product.
What impressed me most was how well
coordinated everything is across the
resort experience. The staff are
genuinely friendly, welcoming and
attentive, and the service feels
very organized from one department
to another.”

Haylee Madison, AMA Travel,
Edmonton, AB
“The overall atmosphere is relaxed,
polished and family-friendly, making
it a good option for families,
couples and travelers who want a
quieter Riviera Maya vacation rather
than a large party resort.”
Karri Waterfield, Expedia Cruises,
Orangeville, ON
“These properties are easy to
navigate, surrounded by lush green
spaces. The food is fantastic. They
deal well with allergies and food
sensitivities. The pools aren't too
deep for young kids.”

Chelsea Smith, Escapes.ca, Toronto,
Ontario
“For clients, I will mention that
the property is a larger size
property but still walkable, with
the ability to get golf carts that
seat at least 7-8 and run
frequently. The resort is excellent
for families, there is truly
something for everyone- adult only
spaces, shows that cater to all -
fire shows, little mermaid.”
Carolyn Harmston, World Odyssey
Travel, Mission, BC
“Platinum lounge is great for those
clients who want to have priority
making dinner reservations and don't
want to wait in line-ups for
check-in and check-out. The food is
amazing. I am a picky eater and
never had an issue finding something
to eat and never had a bad meal.”

I will tell my colleagues to sell
this as 5-star. Be confident selling
to active couples and families.
Possibly singles.”
